Membership to BIMHN is allocated via membership of IMHN, the Independent Mental Health Network. After joining IMHN, members who meet the criteria will be allocated to BIMHN, IMHN’s Bristol branch. Membership is free, although we do offer an option to additionally become a supporter, which involves a monetary donation.
For more information, please see bye-laws 1.13 – 1.15 (the bye-laws relevant to membership of IMHN), extracted from IMHN’s bye-laws, which support the main constitution.
Who can be members?
Membership of IMHN is open to people with lived experience of mental health; or who are past, current, future users of mental health services; and registered with a GP in their local area. Allocation to Bristol is subject to being a resident in the Bristol.
You can also join us if you are a representative of a user-led group that supports people with mental health problems.
What does membership entitle me to?
By becoming a member of BIMHN, you will be able to attend our monthly meetings (held every second Monday of the month, 12.30pm – 15:30, including refreshements); receive our monthly e-newsletter; and take part in opportunities to represent the network at local and national conferences, meetings and events.
